Researching Kitchens

There is a lot to consider when thinking about your new kitchen. Not knowing where to start is okay.

These questions might spark some ideas…

  • Which shape kitchen do I want?

  • Are drawers more important than cupboards?

  • Is bench space a priority?

  • Do I want to utilize as much space as possible?

  • What are my preferred kitchen colours?

  • What is my budget?

Measure and design

From the comfort of your home, we’ll chat about what you want from your new kitchen and what is important to you.

To ensure we’re on the same page we might…

  • Look at other spaces in your home that have been renovated

  • Look through any pictures of other kitchens you like

  • Ask you questions about your expectations

  • Give recommendations and expert knowledge

  • Ask what doesn’t work well in your current kitchen

  • Chat about work zones and ergonomics of your new kitchen

  • Get to know you and your lifestyle

After we’ve taken measurements, we’ll head home and draw a couple of suitable designs for you.

Leave it with us.

Quote, colours and details

Next we'll go through the drawings in 3D together and chat about inclusions and their features and benefits.

We provide an itemised quote showing the breakdown of costs for the kitchen (carcase board, colour board, hardware, benchtop, labour costs, any requested extras etc).

Having a custom made kitchen doesn’t always equal more expense. Instead, it means we can create a kitchen to suit you and your lifestyle.

Hardware and bench tops

Hardware and bench tops are some of the hardest working parts of your new kitchen.

Thanks to many years of kitchen design experience we choose well performing products that are value for money and are tried and tested.

We design, supply and fit a wide range of hardware products which are high quality and have a lifetime warranty.

Appliances

There is such a diverse range of kitchen appliances on the market today and deciding which kitchen appliances to purchase can be daunting.

Although we don’t supply appliances, we will ensure your chosen appliances fit perfectly into your new custom built AJR Cabinetry & Design kitchen.

What happens next?

Once everything has been finalised we work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

  • We size everything up to a scaled drawing plan view and provide copies for you to pass on to other tradies. This is to ensure everyone knows where pipes need to be for the sink, how deep the wall needs to be to house the appliances, if additional power points and lights are needed etc. Sometimes we meet with other tradies onsite.

  • Then, we assemble your kitchen in our workshop over a few weeks, we try to plan things so you get to come and view it before we install it.

  • Once complete, we install the kitchen into your home.

  • Then you tell all of your friends about how awesome AJR Cabinetry & Design are.

We’re here with you every step of the way.
